A little help…

Posted: July 6, 2011 in Recording, Uncategorized

Hi

I’m just writing to ask if you can do a small thing for me to make a big difference.
NZonAIR music funding here in New Zealand is increasingly based on the numbers of fans and followers on networks like twitter and facebook.
So, if you can follow me on twitter: http://twitter.com/kimpottermusic
or “like” my music profile on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/kimpottermusic
…that would make a huge difference.
Even more importantly, if you can pass the message on to anyone you know who might enjoy my music, that will really help to build the numbers…  (and that’s really the name of the game…)
So, thanks very much for your help!!!
Cheers – Kim

A couple of gigs…

Posted: May 19, 2011 in Uncategorized

Hi

I’m playing a couple of gigs in Wellington next week…. Come along.

Thursday May 26, 8pm @ Cavern Club (With Canadians Bonnie Riley and Pete O’Connell)

Saturday May 29th @ Fringe Bar (Supporting The Gracious Deviants)

Also, big thanks to everyone who came down to The Wine Cellar just before Easter… you made it really fun to play that cool venue.  I wanna go back!

If you’re in Wellington, see you soon…  (no pressure) ;-)

Cheers – Kim

Hi

I’m about to head off to Canada and Europe on tour… not music, but “other” gigs.

Over the last 6 weeks or so, I’ve been writing and recording a whole range of different stuff, part of which was a little project I set myself.

Session Notes

Session Notes

I decided I would write and record 6 new songs in 2 weeks.  I almost immediately decided it was a stupid idea, and was glad I hadn’t mentioned it to anyone.

However, two days later, I had three songs written and one recorded, so I kept on trucking.  I ended up with four songs, and it took over three weeks, but I won’t bore you with excuses and details of the distractions and interruptions… (well, ok, I’ll list couple of them at the bottom of the post).

So, I’ve made these four songs (Monsoon Rain, Sun Sets Twice, Tell Me A Lie and Here Comes The Ground) available for FREE download, as part of the “Demos, rough mixes and live tracks” collection on the Band Camp site..

Let me know what you think of these tunes…

Here are the things that distracted me during those three weeks….

New Facebook Page

Posted: December 9, 2009 in Facebook

Hi gang,

I’ve set up a new Facebook page for my musical exploits, and this time made sure the page name isn’t identical to my personal facebook page…  Things should be a little clearer.

The bummer is that, while the old page will stay put for a while, I gotta ask you all to take a moment and “become a fan”.

It’s pretty easy… just click the link below and at the top of the page, you’ll find… “become a fan”

Here’s the link: http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?id=227981395420#/pages/Kim-Potter-Music/227981395420

And, as a small thank you for staying in touch, (and as a secret ploy to have you sign up for my (old school) email updates, I’m giving you a FREE mp3 off the new album.

All you have to do is go here: http://www.kimpotter.co.nz/music/contact.htm

Fill out the super easy form, and grab the mp3.

(Don’t worry, if you REALLY want the mp3 without being on the mailing list, just unsubscribe as you’re listening to the tune)

Thanks so much,

Kim
